Greetings from my seventh flight in the past three weeks!
Seven flights may seem overwhelming, but it’s not all bad! We had five flights going and coming back from vacation and then last week I was in Kansas City with 3,500 youth and youth leaders for the 2019 Youth conference.
I’ve been blessed with safe travels and the ability to get some altitude and (literally) experience a 30,000-foot view. Sometimes you have to take a step back and look at the big picture.
In Greater New Jersey and Next Generation Ministries, we are blessed to be busy as we have a lot of great things happening.
Next week Summer Camps start, where youth who have been Created to Create can enjoy faith and fun with a variety of activities.
In June, we launched 11 high school student internships with local churches. Additionally, 16 high school students participated in the Joshua Generation Pilgrimage through Georgia, Mississippi and Alabama to learn about important sites and work within the civil rights and racial reconciliation movements.
This past week at Youth 2019, groups from four other Annual Conferences committed to attending the GNJ IGNITE 2019 youth conference in Wildwoods, NJ.
We’re also working to launch retreats for students in grades 6-12 and confirmation classes at the Pinelands Center at Mt. Misery this fall and winter.
I know that in your local church you’re working hard to be in ministry with the next generation of disciples too. Our churches are going on summer mission trips, hosting Vacation Bible School, spending time with college students home for summer break and more.
As all of this is happening, would you join me in prayer?
We pray for over 100 campers attending Next Gen Summer Camps. We pray for VBS programs across Greater New Jersey. We pray for students preparing to go begin their college journey. We pray for the 1000’s of people organizing to come to IGNITE.
Through all our ministry and presence, we pray that God will continue to bless the next generation of disciples so that they know God’s love, grow in faith and leadership and lead in their congregations and communities.
God is doing a new and exciting thing. I’m so grateful for your passion about students in your community and your prayers as we do this work. I pray for you, your church and your students.
